The Arkh Project

The Arkh Project is an effort by some queer people of color to make a 3-D RPG that runs off the beaten path. This blog tracks its development.

Addressing yesterday’s #Arkh issue succinctly.

I want to be very clear about this.

  • There are cis straight white people in #Arkh. There are at least two couples that can be deemed as straight, and 3 characters that can be deemed as cis. Two characters are white, two are mixed black/white. Then there are six characters who can be deemed non-white, two couples that can be deemed as queer, and five characters who can be deemed as trans*.
  • Cis straight white people can volunteer, they can support, they can spread the word…I don’t know where ANYONE got that they are not allowed to do any of this.
  • However, Arkh solely wants to use the money raised to benefit the communities that are excluded from gaming. That is queer people and PoC, and especially queer PoC. It is very hard for queer PoC to stick with a company, they’re often tortured until they quit. There are actual articles on this purposeful exclusion. In addition, PoC communities are often very low on money, and unlike the white queer community, the PoC queer community is even poorer. We want to put money into that community, and this is a great way to do it.
